    • The new MKIII Audi TT-RS is already in the 10's - Unitronic runs 10.93@126.33 tune only

This is very impressive! Think about it. A tune only Audi TT-RS is quicker and faster than the standard Audi R8 5.2 liter V10. It also is not too far off the Audi R8 V10 Plus model. We're talking just a beta ECU tune here and it is already in the 10's on pump gas.

Unitronic did not touch anything else. Just their Beta Stage I tune meaning with a more aggressive tune and bolt ons there is much more in it.

Compare this run to the pass posted the other day of a TT-RS with stock calibration and a downpipe.

If you want an all wheel drive turbo street car with a dual clutch transmission and a ton of tuning potential but at a value price point compared to the other options it is hard to argue against the MKIII TT-RS.

Assuming the internals hold up and the drive-train can stay together we might be looking at a 9 second car at nearly 140mph with some very basic mods (tune, downpipe, hybrid turbo). This is some seriously impressive stuff considering it could come in a complete that can handle and is comfortable for roughly $70k.

        Very true.

Let's not forget they are also putting this motors in more cars than before. The RS3 which obviously is heavier and the next RS Q5 supposedly will have it.

because you like the b5 styling?

the new RS3 sedan is only 2 inches shorter than the B5 with a nearly identical wheelbase.

you might even say that the S3 and RS3 are the reincarnation of the B5 S4

Weight, styling, and a personal soft spot for the platform.

if i was going to swap it into anything it would be a UR quattro (stay true to its 5cyl roots), but I actually love the RS3 so i am getting one... been waiting forever for a sporty 4 door RS sedan to come to US (and no rs7 is not a sedan to me lol its a hatch-sedan panomara thingie Click here to enlarge )

Nice choice. Nothing in its range can match it.

I am pretty sure the weight is nearly the same as well....they are both around 3,600lbs...

But i agree on the styling, love it.

B5 A4 was in the 3,100 range. I'd think you could get the i5 swap there considering it is aluminum block now.

As there are no ECU roadblocks we might see this thing in the 9's this year.

We know the old iron block could do 9's let's hope they didn't mess anything up with the new aluminum block...
