" My inch pound torque wrench doesn't go to 17 ft pound and I reduced the torque and I didn't strip out my spark plugs. All is well and I'll still use anti seize. It's not that big of a deal but yes anti seize reduces friction I just didn't cover it in my write up.

Also if you read what I wrote I only blew out the spark plug tubes when the spark plugs were in the cylinder head. Oh Lol.. My pics are out of order crap I'll fix it tonight. Yes don't blow spark plug holes when the spark plugs are out only before you remove the plugs. Good catch.

Have a good day. "

Sticky created the thread Big dog battle - 425 wheel horsepower turbo Hayabusa vs 1700+ horsepower UGR twin turbo Gallardo.
" Liter plus bikes are pretty damn fast, we know that. Power to weight tends to favor bikes at least stock. This bike is not stock however and is turbocharged putting out 425 horsepower at the wheels on C16. It is basically similar to riding a cruise missile. UGR (Underground Racing) makes some spectacularly fast cars with some of their twin turbo V10 Gallardo's and R8's rumored to be putting out well over the 2000 horsepower mark depending on who you ask.

This Gallardo is stated to have '1750' horsepower. Based on a quick power to weight calculation it has around 1.94 pounds per horse. The Hayabusa based on a 425 wheel horsepower number and a ~600 pound weight with fluids and the turbo has 1.41 pounds per horse. The aerodynamics of course favor the Gallardo.

So what happens? The Gallardo wins. Why? Well aerodynamics from a roll as stated and probably because it has more power than is being let on. Taking down a Hayabusa on the highway in a car is an incredible feat. A turbo Hayabusa? Well, that requires something truly spectacular. That is exactly what this UGR built Gallardo is.

Sticky replied to the thread Ferrari plotting entry-level model with 500 bhp twin-turbo V6 2.9-liter engine - report.
" Whether we like it or not the turbocharged modern era of Ferrari is here. It began with the California T getting a shared direct injection 3.8 liter twin turbo V8 design with Maserati. That same motor will be tweaked and find its way under the hood of the Ferrari 458. The turbo engines will not stop there as apparently a new 2.9 liter turbo V6 is in the pipeline.

This information comes from Automobile who has absolutely no backing for their story. No quoted source, no official specifications, nothing. They seem to be guessing as they often do. Let's assume they are right for the moment and a new 'entry level' Ferrari is on the way.

Ferrari does not want to dilute their brand image so a cheap car is out of the question. By cheap that means under $200k. Secondly, Ferrari's CEO is opposed to an entry level car. Where Automobile is pulling this information from is anyone's guess.

This new car is supposed to be based on a compacted 458 architecture. The 2.9 liter twin turbocharged V6 would have output somewhere over 500 horsepower. This is all just a bunch of guessing though and Automobile admits as much: "

All data thus far shows large benefits on the N54 and N55 heads. They are hardly BMW's best cylinder head work. "

Of course you can. This is an E30 M3 DTM car. It's nothing like a modern DTM car. It uses the factory E30 M3 engine, factory chassis (not a custom tube chassis), and you can basically turn any E30 M3 into a 'DTM' race car.

It's still a naturally aspirated four-cylinder and chassis designed 30+ years ago. No reason you can't compare it.

A Camaro Z28 will put the M4 to shame too. "

Sticky created the thread Audi and Porsche relationship getting testy? VW Group automakers including Lamborghini and Bentley arguing over platform sharing.
" Audi and Porsche do not really like each other. They have to play nice as Volkswagen owns both of them now but Porsche and Audi each want to call the shots in the luxury segment. As Porsche expands its model lineup it continues to step on Audi's toes. Audi does not like this but Porsche also does not like that Audi made the R8 which definitely targets potential 911 buyers. Each company is taking offense with the other.

This in-house battle is increasing as Porsche and Audi both are dumping money into competing platforms. Rather than cooperating each wants to push their own platform. Porsche wants Audi to use its platform for the next generation Panamera for example. Audi wants Porsche to use its platform developed for the next generation Q7 to underpin the Cayenne but Porsche is saying the platform has to many deficiencies including limitations with engine choices. Volkswagen wants everyone in the VW Group to use Audi's design to save costs.

Lamborghini apparently is not too happy with Porsche as VW apparently is having Porsche design all the future sports cars in the VW Group. Lamborghini does not like what Porsche has planned for the Huracan successor. Audi who uses the Lamborghini platform for the R8 is also not happy with Porsche's approach so Lamborghini and Audi appear aligned against Porsche. Bentley on the other hand is happy with Porsche and their MSB luxury platform they intend to make use of.

Lamborghini wants its own chassis and one designed to accept V10 engines. Porsche is building a chassis around their flat-6 motors which obviously benefits them. Audi uses the Lamborghini V10 so they are with Lamborghini on this one. See the mess? "

" hopefully it's true!

very interesting to watch how quickly the S55 is getting modified.. i wonder how much of it is because it's an M3, and how much of it is tuners have had their eyes (and gained bulk experience) on the various turbo BMW motors for years already? "
