I don't know if this was answered or not, but was the cts-v auto or manual?

the car was 700 $#@!ing lbs heavier dude....of course its not gonna be as fast.....
I believe a non-P31 C63 weighs 3950 lbs with a 1/4 tank of gas. So, I don't think the weight disparity is as much as people are saying. Plus, doesn't the V have an air intake. That should be good for 30 hp on the LSA.

the V owner is a member of my forum ctsvowners.....the V had a 200lb passenger...the weight in the car with the driver is 4500lbs as i have weighed mine...

And assuming a 200 lbs driver in the C63 with a 1/4 tank of gas, the C63 weighed 4150 lbs. No big deal, but definitely not close to 700 lbs difference.

I was just going off the 4200 lbs (without driver) figure that was mentioned in the first page of the thread. So, 4200 lbs plus driver and 200 lbs passenger is not a 700 lbs weight difference.

Plus, do we know how much gas was in the C63. Maybe there was less than a 1/4 tank, but maybe there was more...

understood...according to the owner the V had about a 30-40whp advantage

I would say that hp estimate is too conservative. I would estimate the C63 with tune to be at 425 whp. The V with air intake to be at 480 whp. This is assuming both cars on a DJ. Plus, depending on the DA the day of the race, the higher the DA, the more difficult for the NA car to generate full power vs the F/I car.

No one is lying. But, you know that V's with intake can add 30 whp to an already healthy 450 whp stock baseline. Tuned C63's make 425 whp on average. They can make maybe 435 whp with excellent gas and excellent weather/DA. But, again, that's the thing about NA cars, if the weather is not optimal, then the C63 naturally will not make it's highest hp potential. The V will more easily make it's full potential with less effect from weather and DA than the NA C63. We're not debating huge hp numbers here. But, the weight was too extreme. And the mention of possibly only 30 whp difference favors the V too much. And it's not accurate. But, it's not a lie.. I don't think anyone cares enough about this issue to lie. Just, some people are not fully informed.

Exactly, the C63 isn't some lightweight.

i know the c63s are fast and im well aware of the capabilities of the V....heres how i see it...

    c63 no passenger prob 4100lbs 425whp
V with passenger prob 4600lbs 480whp (my V with me in it is 4475)

so lets say 60-70whp disaprity the outcome in the vid makes perfect sense

especially when it takes me over 100whp to be able to beat a car that weighs 1000lbs less than me

I'm beginning to see the problem here. Any slight comment putting the V down and you get your panties in a bunch. What do you think the result would be if the C63 had a blower like the V ?

dude...im not partial to the V...the c63 with a blower is fast as we have seen JRCART...there are also fast Vs in that caliber too..my goal is to get there as well...fastest V goes 9.6@146 i think JRCART is somewhere in that range as well...the V is HEAVY....it needs more power to get moving more than most cars need....pretty sure JRCART doesnt need nearly as much to get there

You're not partial to the V ? You own one. Comparing it to JRcarts Black Series isn't and equal comparison. I know there are some very fast V's out there. And the fastest one probably didn't spend nearly as much as Jim or Earl have. You get a lot more bang for the buck domestically. Either way....I think this all started cause someone said the M156 is a better, more efficient motor - I don't think anyone can argue that. But again, 2 very different motors as someone mentioned earlier....2v vs 4v etc etc....
