    Eurocharged Canada is still tweaking the tune and wants to run the car at the track when weather permits but AudiBoost's job is the bring you the latest tuning breakthroughs and news. This 800+ all wheel horsepower Audi MKII TT-RS 2.5 TFSI certainly qualifies as newsworthy. The tuning is as mentioned by Eurocharged Canada and Eurocode provided the forged pistons, rods, and valvetrain components. Eurocode/SRM (Silly Rabbit Motorsport) partner on the 2.5 TFSI Garrett GTX35 based hybrid turbo upgrade. The result is a silly 814 awhp and 780 awtq: Please excuse the low resolution graph as this is just a teaser. Eurocharged Canada will publish a full resolution graph when they are finished. Enjoy the result for now and this is just the beginning.

    The GT2 RS is a very, very special 911 and not exactly easily replaceable. As a matter of fact, in order to replace a lost unit Porsche has to restart the entire production line. That is exactly what they are doing in order to deliver four units to customers which were lost in a shipping accident. A fire started on the Grande America pictured below which resulted in the loss of the ship which sank some 100 miles off the coast of France: The 991.2 GT2 RS models on board will be replaced by a production run in April which should result in deliveries to the customers in Brazil in June. Roughly 2000 cars were onboard and if you want to try and fish one out they are lying at 15,000 feet underwater. Kudos to Porsche for doing the right thing: Source

    This Mercedes-AMG GLC63 built by GAD Motors is a stout performer. It better be considering it has the works from tuner GAD including a built motor, built transmission, and M177 turbo upgrade. Output is stated to be around 950 horsepower. You saw a GLC63 with this same GAD 950 package make easy work of a Ferrari 812 Superfast. This particular example though struggles a bit especially at the launch at least until the final race against the X5M. Every 60 foot is over 2.X except in the final run when it manages a 1.7X. It also is nowhere near the 9-second numbers GAD posted in the 1/4 mile. The GT-R crushes it in the first run but the GLC lets off: A stock F90 M5 is next and despite the bad start the GLC63 catches and passes: The GLC63 traps 5.9 mph higher at the 1/2 mile mark. The final run is against a K8 Strasse built BMW F85 X5M said to make 1000 horsepower. The 1/2 mile trap is not recorded for the X5M. It does run the quicker 1/2 mile but the GLC63 got the better launch and reaction time: While this GLC63 is not putting up the numbers of GAD's own car it is definitely doing well against some stout competition.

    More S55 tuning results with the EcuTek software suite are being published and Snail Performance did a custom Stage 1 tune on this F80 M3 Competition. This tune was done on a stock car on 91 octane pump fuel with no other changes but the tune. The baseline is a healthy 415 rwhp and 427 rwtq on a Mustang dynamometer: They get gains through the curve starting with a nice torque increase at 3000 rpm. There is a difference of roughly 90 whp at 5500 rpm. Peak horsepower increases by 32 at the wheels and torque increases by 61 lb-ft at the wheels. Very nice gains tune only over an S55 Competition file and it is great to see more and more EcuTek results especially from their ProEcu tuners.

    DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters or German Touring Car Masters) is going to turbocharged four-cylinder power. The series previously utilized naturally aspirated 4.0 liter V8's but Audi states they are getting more power out of the four-cylinder turbo motors and also making racing potentially more exciting. There is a push-to-pass feature which allows overboost for overtaking. This is a smart way to take advantage of the turbo powerplant in racing and one has to wonder why Formula 1 does not incorporate something similar to increase passing and make races more exciting. Maybe you get a bonus use of the overboost feature if you set a fastest lap for example? There are plenty of ways to utilize the ability of the motor to generate more boost in a race setting. Speaking of boost, the motors are designed for 50 psi. The smaller four-cylinder motors are expected to provide a fuel efficiency benefit as well and consume 24.7 gallons an hour. This goes up to 26 gallons an hour with use of the horsepower boost function. The motor is lighter as well with the powerplant coming in at 187 pounds. That means cars are down to 2200 pounds dry. DTM is essentially German Nascar but with these new changes as well as lighter and more powerful cars the racing should be much more exciting.

    The next generation BMW 1-Series and 2-Series will share a Mini inspired FWD architecture. What does this mean? It means four-cylinder power and it also means do not expect another M2 with BMW M inline-6 power. Much like the BMW F48 X1 and F39 X2 which share the same platform as well there is no room for an I6 in the engine bay. This means the redundancy between the M2 and M4 will come to an end and that the 1-Series and 2-Series are expected to stay smaller compared to the 3-Series and 4-Series which continue to grow in size. If we even see another M2 expect four-cylinder power although that is unlikely. It would be nice to see BMW challenge the Mercedes CLA45 AMG as the 2-Series Gran Coupe in particular will be the direct challenger from BMW. We'll see the new 2-Series debut late this year at the Los Angeles International Auto Show.
