    • Don't forget the awesomeness of the C5 RS6 - 870 horsepower 4.4 liter built motor C5 Audi RS6 sedan

You could say Audi fired the first salvo in the super sedan power war that rages until today. Back when BMW had the E39 M5 and Mercedes-AMG felt 350 horsepower was plenty for the W210 E55 AMG Audi showed up in 2003 with a 450 horsepower twin turbo V8 sedan with all wheel drive.

The move was so aggressive it forced AMG to respond to with a W211 E55 AMG featuring a supercharged 5.5 liter V8. BMW decided to go extreme and stick a high revving 5.0 liter V10 in the E60 M5. This is when things were fun.

Now everyone features a twin turbo V8 with all wheel drive. The sedans all blend together with the exception of Jaguar and Cadillac but they trail in performance.

Audi was the first to do it and it was unique. It was almost absurd.

The C5 RS6 continues to fly under the radar and really it should be a collector's car at some point. They can be made very fast with some tuning and this example takes things to the extreme.

Check out the translated mod list:

      - Open Exhaust System 2 x 76 mm from turbo
      - 1100 cc at 3 BA
      - tte prototype loader with increased pressure doses
      - no before
      - Compaction Reduced over thick zkd
      - new pistons
      - 4400ccm
      - Compaction 8,5: 1
      - series manifold modified
      - Large Suction 67 mm
      - Rods H-shaft
      - Llk Wagner
      - wmi snow performance
      - fuel E-85

Some details are off from the translation from German but essentially you learn this is a 4.4 liter built motor with 8.5:1 to compression. It is running E85 and larger hybrid turbos. A Snow Performance water-meth system is also doin work.

The result? 869 horsepower and 1000 lb-ft of torque:

There is more in it but this definitely should surprise some people with almost 900 horsepower and weighing in at just over 4000 pounds.

The 5-speed automatic was ditched for a 6-speed manual transmission.

Looks like a 6 speed swap to me. Pretty common in these cars.
