    • Twin turbo awd wagon 1/2 mile drag race - Tuned Audi C6 RS6 Avant V10 vs. Mercedes-AMG E63 S vs. Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Turbo S E-Hybrid

This is fun to see as it is a little different than your typical magazine drag race. For one, the cars are all wagons. Secondly, the Audi C6 generation RS6 is used which has a twin turbo 5.2 liter V10 plus a tune on it. Sadly, the US never received an Audi model with this motor (unforgivable).

The AMG has a smaller motor than the Audi with a 4.0 liter M177 twin turbo V8. It does have a newer design plus a very quick shifting 9-speed AMG MCT Speedshift gearbox.

The Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Turbo S E-Hybrid (written as Panamera from this point forward) is a hybrid as the name implies. It is also extremely heavy at 5126 pounds. That would be heavy even for an SUV.

The electric motor and battery obviously add weight but they also add 130 horsepower for a total of 680 plus instant torque. It is the most powerful vehicle on paper.

So what are the performance numbers?

It is odd the Audi seems to die past the 1/4 mile. Something might be wrong with it? To get a 124 mile per hour trap speed yet have the slowest 0-100 time plus a small trap increase by the 1/2 mile seems odd.

The Panamera is the quickest and fastest but literally by 1 mph and 1 tenth at the 1/2 mile mark. Considering the E63 does not have a fancy hybrid system and that it is lighter plus much cheaper it is the most impressive wagon here.

The Panamera hybrid system just does not seem to be worth the money when you factor in the premium you spend for the performance plus the weight penalty.
