    • Weistec B9 Audi S4 EA839 3.0 V6 ECU flash dyno tune results - +59 awhp, +105 awtq

Finally! The day has come and we have before and after ECU flash tune results for the B9 Audi S4 EA839 3.0 twin scroll turbo V6. Weistec posted their numbers thankfully on their all wheel drive Dynojet which provides a great point of reference.

In STD correction the B9 S4 posts a baseline of 259 horsepower and 307 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels. Frankly, it is shocking Audi would release an S4 with such a palty level of power in 2019.

The tune picks up 59 horsepower and a very nice 105 lb-ft of torque at the wheels pushing the torque figure up over 400 lb-ft at the wheels:

Yes, most of the gain is down low.

It sure looks like in order for these cars to gain a strong top end and some impressive power a turbo upgrade will be necessary.

Something more is in the works for this engine platform as well. More information will be available some time next week.

What is Audi doing? The B8 (V6T) made ~300 WHP if I recall correctly. In the end these will have a lot more potential, but as of right now these would get walked by a B8 with a pulley and tune.

Here's one of APR's graphs for the B8:

        I honestly don't know what they're thinking.

In all fairness to Audi, it has been quite hot here during our testing. Intake air temps climb sharply during a pull.

If we were in December, it would not be surprising to see higher before and after numbers while maintaining a similar delta

California 91 octane also does not help the situation. Cooler weather and 93 octane (like what the car is rated using) would have probably put the stock numbers much closer to 300hp at the wheels

slap a huge turbo on that thing and lets see what it can do

Hmmm it’s quite possible somebody teased such a turbo today...

Thanks for the context, makes more sense now. Still, in the turbo era I expect new models to be making significant gains (+10-20% WHP I think would be reasonable) instead of going backwards.

Could also be that they do not want to impact RS4 and RS5 sales.
