    • Dyno Spectrum launches DS1 (real time logging/tuning/map switching) beta program for Audi 4.0 TFSI V8 - C7 S6,S7,RS6,RS7 and D4 A8,S8

Dyno Spectrum's DS1 tuning is going to change the 4.0 TFSI V8 game. You've seen some previews of the capability such as ethanol flex-fuel tuning support. Well, there is much more it can do and there is a beta program for those with a 4.0 TFSI V8 who want to get in on it early.

      This applies to those with a C7 generation Audi S6, S7, RS6, or RS7 and the D4 generation Audi A8 and S8.

The capability on the factory ECU is unprecedented:

Not only that but it has a slew of features never before seen in not only the Audi 4.0L but stock ECU technology in general.

With the DS1 you can now tune the stock ECU in full realtime, meaning that you do not need to shut off the ECU to make tables changes, can upload full bin files at once to a running car and all while datalogging at the same time. While some other calibration suites offer realtime tuning of a few tables, the DS1 allows you to tune any table defined to be calibrated in real time, meaning over 350 of the defined tables.

As well as this technology it also has the following features:

      Real time flex fuel
Map switching for 9 slots on flex fuel
Custom Gauges using the boost gauge to read things like average knock retard, lambda, fuel pressure and ethanol content all displayed on the main display
      Read Codes
      Clear Codes
      Dyno Mode On and Off
      Manual ethanol content setting
      Manual map switching
      100Hz Datalogging

This can all be done from your phone, tablet or computer.
      Impressive, right?

You will want to talk to Dyno Spectrum if you wish to get on the beta program.

This is pretty awesome. It's sort of a shame the platform is only available in luxo-barges though.

They would have crushed it if a detuned version went in the RS4/RS5

You gotta start somewhere. 4.0T is not the worst platform for rollout. We know McLaren is next and I’d imagine Porsche soon if there is not a NDA/DNC with COBB

It was partially developed on other platforms, too. It should be able to cover most modern VAG cars easily enough and had been shown to work on N55 BMWs during development. In the end, they went to market with the product aimed at where they thought it would sell well.

I think he's referring to the motor and not the DS1 software.

Sticky, you kindly posted some of my N55 work that was part of the initial development that eventually went into the 4.0T DS1. All MED17 are quite similar.
