    • EA839 3.0 exhaust restrictive? Weistec Stage 2 (W.2) tune claims 220+ lb-ft of torque gains over stock B9 Audi S4/S5

There is some chatter about these output claims from Weistec for their Stage II EA839 3.0 engine tune for the B9 Audi S4 and S5 models. You already saw the numbers from their Stage I ECU tune which is with software only.

The Stage II tune is with exhaust modifications:

We do not have a dyno graph for the W.2 tune with a race exhaust (catless). The W.1 does pick up over 100 lb-ft at all four wheels so this would be quite the jump.

Is the factory Audi exhaust restrictive? Does race tuning (perhaps high octane) make that much of an impact here? We reached out to Weistec but they are at SEMA so we will have to wait until the show is over for answers.

Two things are wrong with this

        1. There was an error with data entry on the back end of our website results in overly high numbers. We are working to correct that. Apologies for the confusion the error has caused. Peak deltas we have seen on a stage 2 B9 RS5 are 100hp and 141tq at the wheels. Peak to peak gains being ~70hp and ~110tq at the wheels

        2. You are looking at the product for the 2.9 engine found in the RS4/RS5. Stage 2 numbers for the 3.0 engine in the S4/S5 are different

For the S4/S5, we have found that 15-20hp gain from downpipe. Also one of the most important upgrades would be an intercooler on these cars as the factory piece is terrible.

For the RS4/RS5 we have seen as much as 25-30hp gained from downpipes.

Both engines are largely octane limited as well with the California 91 octane fuel we use for testing and advertising.

Do you guys plan on releasing dynographs for these tunes in the near future?

        Here is one

RS5 with tune and downpipes. stock intake, stock catback, stock paper air filter. California 91 octane

        Attachment 59806

With higher octane, we see higher number with gains of 20hp in the top end thanks to being able to run a little bit more timing.

        Awesome, thanks!
