    • Flawed Comparison - Tuned Audi R8 5.2 V10 vs. tuned Ferrari 488 GTB 0-300 kph speedometer overlay

Now, it's cool to see two tuned examples of these cars compared but this video highlights the problem with speedometer comparison videos. For one, speedometers tend to read differently from different manufacturers.

What you need here is GPS for a proper and useful comparison. Also, you need to tell the viewer how the cars are modified and not just their claimed horsepower.

For 802 horsepower the R8 will need forced induction. If it has a supercharger, whose kit?

If the Ferrari is said to be making 780 horsepower which is 120 over stock whose tune and what parts is it running?

This is the kind of vid that will get plenty of Youtube views but provides little meaningful data for enthusiasts. A head to head race video would better serve in that regard that a speedo mashup.

For the record, the Ferrari appears to be a tad faster.

Edit: The R8 is modified by MTM.
