    • GAD tuned W205 Mercedes-AMG C63 vs. tuned 8V Audi RS3 hatchback from a stop and roll

It is rather amazing when you think about it that Audi built such a monster with only five cylinders and 2.5 liters of displacement. The Mercedes-AMG C63 by contrast has an M178 4.0 liter twin turbo V8 so brute force should be on its side.

Especially with a GAD Motors ECU tune on top. The RS3 also has a tune and is said to be at about 450 horsepower.

So what do we learn? Well, for one, a rear wheel drive V8 AMG sucks to launch on wet tarmac. It's pointless really. The all wheel drive RS3 runs away and there is no chance for the C63.

Eventually a run from a roll is done and it is surprisingly close. The C63 does edge it out.

When they do a second run the C63 gets a better start and grip decisively pulling.

Both cars are fantastic but the RS3 considering its positioning below the RS5 which is supposed to be the C63's rival definitely overachieves.

looks like itís 580hp with the gad ecu tune

so itís got 130hp more...It sure as hell better pull away with a running start or Iíd be questioning things

All these 4 wheel drive hot hatches are embarrassing the c63's. Day to day driving these cars will leave you behind from the stop. All that power and unable to do anything with it on the roads. Id been well peeved if I had a c63. We are talking performance and measuring it so it does matter to people who buy these cars. Sure does to me. Thats why Ive had to go all in on an e63s and possibly a divorce.

        You made the right choice.

You forgot that the RS3 weighs about 500lbs less than the C63.

        4100/580=7lb/hp
        3600/450= 8lb/hp

i didn’t forget, the weight difference isn’t enough to compensate for the power difference.

the rs3 would need 514hp to be the same ratio 7lb/hp

slightly off topic but I still wish the rumors of the c63 being awd were true....too bad

Nobody would like that more than me. I have had 3 c63's ppp and s models and love them. I can never get my head around why people go on about power so much if its impossible to get traction. Whats the point of having mega power if a car with less and all wheel drive can smoke it on most roads. Like a huge heavy bodybuilder running the 100m. Would not turn out well even with all that power.

Because once moving and hitting turns that all wheel drive system is a liability.

Stoplight races are great but what about how the car drives? What about freeway rolls? What about getting the tail out?

A 911 Turbo will beat a GT2 RS off the line. I know which one I'd rather have.

Id rather have the 911 Turbo out of the two. But I'm a one trick pony lol.
