    • The 2019 C8 Audi RS6 may bring back the sedan version while packing 650+ horsepower

It really does no matter what the crank ratings say these days. Everyone in the German mid-size sport sedan class with a twin turbo V8 is producing well over 600 horsepower. If Audi rates their next gen C8 RS6 at 650+ horsepower you better believe it is really over 700 horsepower.

Things have gotten out of control in this modern power war but that is also what makes it so much fun. The current RS7 Performance Package is rated at 597 horsepower so Audi simply has no choice but to bump the output on paper for the new car significantly to show an improvement.

We know it will be powerful no matter what they rate it at but the real news is the possible return of the RS6 sedan. As you know, the RS6 is not sold in the USA due to being a wagon only configuration. This opens the door for the possible return of the RS6 to the US market.

Furthermore, the new RS6 and RS7 will have a derivative of Porsche's twin turbo V8 currently utilized in the Porsche Panamera and Lamborghini Urus. Somewhat boring but VW continues to share engines across their premium platforms to save money.

There is also a rumor of the Panamera Turbo S E-hybrid system coming to the RS6 and RS7 but let's hope they keep that over at Porsche as Audi already has very heavy cars to begin with.

With the F90 M5 and W213 E63 S making headlines it's time for Audi to deliver the C8 RS6/RS7 already and join the fun.

I still have a soft spot for the C5. I don't think people understand how nuts it was at the time for Audi to roll out a twin turbo 4.2 liter all wheel drive V8 sedan:

yeah i liked the C5 too, but at the time the E55 was touted as faster and more mod friendly so i went with the E55... that's when i realized the benefit of AWD as the RWD E55, with big SC pulley/ headers/TB, was such a trq monster that on the street it was worthless at stoplights unless i rolled around with drag-radials all the time (which i eventually did lol)

The RS6 came first then the E55 got its blower later and the power war exploded.
