    • Quickest and fastest NA R8 - Audi R8 V10 Plus runs 10.4 @ 134.9 with APR's E85 tune

APR released their 5.2 liter V10 tune for the Audi R8 V10 Plus and Lamborghini Huracan last year. The numbers they gained on the high output version of the V10 were very impressive as APR squeezed out an additional 47 horsepower at the wheels on E85.

An R8 V10 plus with the software ran 10.6 @ 131 in the 1/4 mile last year.

Well, recently an example with bolt ons on the same E85 tune managed a very impressive 10.460 @ 134.90 which is the quickest and fastest naturally aspirated R8 V10 pass to date:

Great bolt on results with APR's ethanol tunin.

for a car thats NA that is blistering fast!! Every car is twin turbo and can pick up upwards of 150hp with tunes and bolt ons now, these cars can't sniff those kind of gains in NA trim. i think that is extremely impressive

I think I'm going with the VF Hex tune for my gen 1 v10, I would be thrilled to run 10's period. There hasn't been a e85 tune for the gen 1 like the gen 2 because the fuel system can't support it.

        It is incredibly impressive.

What other modern NA car can go faster with bolt ons? The Viper and...?

first reason i was hoping someone figured out the e85, 2nd reason was vf kept saying they would have a way to do the 15's without ecu removal and they haven't gotten it done yet. So now ill just take em out and send them.

A little off topic. But I just read the new R8 RWS msrp($139k) is $26k below the awd R8. Kinda seems like a steal.

        I've seen 132 stock.

Tune only should easily match this.

They are also 8.4 liters vs 5.2 that over 3 liters bigger. The 5.2 is the best n/a engine out there hands down for the power they put down with 5.2 liters is crazy. Wait until somebody really maxes this motor out with heads cams etc its going to make everything shake.

Who is going to do that?

The cams and heads are already pretty damn good.

I agree that it is very good for factory but there is always room to improve. Nobody has done it because they either go supercharger route or twin turbo. Its very expensive and takes longer to do a n/a build. Its like me telling you I can give you 300 hp for 15k for I can give you 100 hp for 15k which one would you take. I get that but somebody that would really want to go deep into a n/a build with custom heads cams etc I bet anything 600 plus whp is very possible. For one I have a plan and I am not going into any details of who is doing my work but I am going to try to have the fastest n/a r8 v10 plus in the Country.

I agree with all your points.

It will be difficult to find someone who can successfully build and tune the cams.

I would love to see you pull this off.
