    • A for Effort - A 2018 B9 RS4 tries to keep up with a 2018 Porsche 911 (991.2) GT2 RS on the autobahn

There are those people out there who feel every car needs all wheel drive because putting power down from a stop is paramount. Those people probably do not have access to the autobahn where top end power rules the day.

The rear wheel drive GT2 RS demonstrates perfectly why a combination of light weight and an efficient rear wheel drive drivetrain is a devastatingly effective top end combo. Remember, rear wheel drive rules the day when it comes to top end racing.

The B9 RS4 is no slouch with its 450 horsepower 2.9 liter twin turbo V6 but the GT2 RS and its sandbagged 700+ horsepower 3.8 flat-6 (680+ whp) is just on another level.

Watch it disappear into the distance as the poor RS4 struggles to keep up before giving up when running into traffic.

It is also great to see a different type of racing highlighted here where top end power maintained over long distances is king.

That wasn’t really a “race”. That’s just called “driving” in Germany.
