    • Greatest modern turbo engine? Audi's 2.5 TFSI inline-5 gets ninth straight International Engine of the Year Award

If you produce an engine between 2.0 and 2.5 liters and it is not the Audi 2.5 TSI turbo inline-5 you have not been able to win at the International Engine of the Year awards since 2010. That is how dominate Audi's streak is with this engine which is the all-time winningest.

The 2.0 to 2.5 liter category simply belongs to Audi. They do not rest on their laurels either but keep updating the motor.

The most recent changes of course being dual-fuel injection and an aluminum block.

The new 2.5 TFSI is not only the strongest version the factory ever produced but the most tuner friendly iteration as well.

It already runs 9's and does so at an incredible value. It is not even over the line to say we will see this motor running 8's by this time next year when built examples get out there.

Is there a better modern turbo engine? When you factor in the price, technology, lineage, tunability, and performance the 2.5 TFSI is unrivaled.

I finally had a chance to drive a Mk2 car yesterday and that motor really is a gem. Even in 9,000+ft DA conditions, the car absolutely rips at stage 2 on 91. It's amazing to get this level of big turbo/small displacement package from an oem.

Rs3 will be my next car if the M5 doesn't fall through.
