    • The 2020 C8 Audi RS7 spotted testing on the Nurburgring

Well, Audi gets the luxury of entering the next gen mid-size luxury performance sedan battle last. That means they should top the W213 Mercedes-AMG E63 S and BMW F90 M5 which are the current top dogs.

What will Audi do for an encore though? They will be utilizing a 4.0 liter twin turbo direct injected top mount V8 but shared with other VAG products this time. That means it will likely be the new Porsche version.

That is fine but what will output be? If Audi is coming to market last they need to have the most power. Also, why not do something special and give it a dual-injection fuel system? We all are witnessing how that system benefits the 2.5 TFSI in the tuning game.

The thing is standing out in this segment is very difficult now. Everyone has all wheel drive, everyone has a twin turbo V8 of similar displacement, and everyone has an automatic transmission.

If the C8 generation RS7 is just more of the same that is fine considering how good the C7 RS7 was but it would be nice to see the cars differentiated somehow.
